Organic Evaporated Cane Juice In all of our products Sugar produced without chemical fertilizers and pesticides. It contains more nutrients than conventional refined sugar, allowing for digestion with a lesser degree of leaching (pulling from stored nutrients in the body). Not all sugar is ethically vegan, but organic sugar is since it is not filtered through bone char. Whole Grain Oat Flour In our chocolate chunk, oatmeal cranberry, and rainbow cookies The oat flour we use are milled from the purest gluten free oats and packed in a strictly gluten free facility. They are then tested in a lab to prove absence of gluten. Sweet White Sorghum Flour In our rainbow cookies Sorghum is a gluten-free cereal crop that is high in protein, antioxidants, iron, and dietary fiber. It has a mild taste, which makes it a great choice for blending with our other flours. Garbanzo Bean Flour In our brownies and rainbow cookies A flour made from chickpeas that is gluten free and high in protein. It results in baked goods of quality texture (no grittiness). Safflower Oil In all of our products Made from the seeds of safflowers, which are similar to sunflowers, this oil contains healthy fats (omega-6 fatty acids) and may even help prevent cardiovascular disease. It is low in saturated fat and contains no trans fat or cholesterol. Chocolate In our rainbow cookies, brownies, and chocolate chunk cookies The chocolate chosen for our products contains is high quality semi-sweet chocolate made with no soy lecithin or milk products. It is made with vegan sugar and all fair trade certified ingredients. Palm Oil In our rainbow cookies We use sustainable palm oil for its viscosity and nut free quality. There is currently no other substitute on the market for our particular needs. Palm oil has recently become a hot topic due to malpractices in the industry. Although using other vegetable oils seems like a practical solution, it would actually create similar - if not even larger - environmental and social problems. Therefore, the best solution is to ensure you buy products that contain sustainable palm oil with identity preserved (IP) for traceablilty. Only by being RSPO-certified by an independent auditor approved by the RSPO can producers claim that they produce, use and/or sell sustainable palm oil. This assures the buyer that well intended, stringent criteria have been followed. Palm oil is expressed from the fruit of a palm tree. It contains no trans fats and is cholesterol free. Cream of Tartar In our chocolate chunk and oatmeal cranberry cookies AKA tartaric acid, it's a substance that occurs naturally in plants. Non-irradiated leavening agent from Spain. Konjac Flour In our chocolate chunk and oatmeal cranberry cookies Also known as glucomannan, it's a natural soluble plant fiber (herb) from Asia that we use in place of gums. Safe when baked into foods, but has a reputation of causing digestive upset or being a choking hazard when consumed straight and in larger amounts (as a supplement for weight loss and cholesterol management). Molasses Powder In our chocolate chunk and oatmeal cranberry cookies The molasses powder we use is vegan ans made up of refiners syrup and cane molasses. Raspberry Jam In our rainbow cookies The jam we use contains no artificial color or refined sugar. It is sweetened with brown rice syrup and is non-gmo. It does contain raspberry seeds, but they are not overwhelming to the eating experience. Natural Flavors In all of our products The natural flavors we add to our products allow for traditional taste without any nut or dairy allergen present. They are non-GMO, vegan and a great fit for our product standards. Flaxseed Meal In our rainbow cookies Flax seeds contain omega-3 essential fatty acids, lignans and fiber. This is why they are considered to be a healthy addition to ones diet. The inclusion of this ground seed in our recipe helps to achieve a vegan, gluten free product that possesses desirable qualities of conventional baking. Beet Color Extract In our rainbow cookies A natural coloring agent free of the extreme health risks associated with conventional dyes. Our color is used in powder form and contains maltodextrin as a natural drying agent. Maltodextrin is derived from rice or potato. The particular color we purchase is non-GMO. Rise in blood sugar levels can cause some to avoid maltodextrin consumption. I can assure you that the level contained in our product is minimal. Sea SaltIn all of our products Natural Salt obtained through the evaporation of sea water. Unlike processed table salt, it retains minerals and has no additives. Sea salt is generally considered safe for people with shellfish allergies. Chlorophyll In our rainbow cookies A natural coloring pigment produced by plants, free of the extreme health risks associated with conventional dyes. In addition to providing green color to baked goods, it also is said to help rebuild and replenish our red blood cells, boosting our energy and increasing our well-being. Cocoa Powder In our brownies Dutched, Alkalized cocoa made with Arriba Nacional Ecuadorian fine aroma and flavor beans. It's ethically sourced in partnership with small farmers and co-ops. Potato Flour In our chocolate chunk and oatmeal cranberry cookies Not to be confused with potato starch, potato flour is ground from whole peeled and trimmed potatoes. It's a gluten free flour option with a nice smooth texture. Garfava Flour In our chocolate chunk and oatmeal cranberry cookies A blend of garbanzo (chickpea) and fava bean flours. It is gluten free and protein rich, with a smooth texture. Dried Cranberries In our oatmeal cranberry cookies We use organic cranberries sourced from the USA, to unsure that they are grown completely free of any chemicals. These berries are a nutrient powerhouse, containing minerals, vitamins, fiber, and one of the highest servings of antioxidants found in fruits. Oats In our oatmeal cranberry cookies Gluten free and tested to confirm purity. Oats are widely accepted as nutritional powerhouses full of dietary fiber and protein. That’s because oats contain soluble fiber, which is especially good for the reduction of cholesterol and may protect against heart disease.
